Visibility yesterday at MM was not very good

Metro Manila,   PHL    | May 10, 2013

Yesterday's visible sign of air quality was not well;   air looked hazy and not as clear last Wednesday.

Photo taken from 4th storey of a  building in Rockwell

 Very poor visibility indeed

So many developments going;   except for improvement of air quality

 Glass tower near Atrium

It was 3 pm sun was shining brightly and yet air was hazy;  why?

Is health really wealth?

Rizal, PHL   May 8, 2013

Is health really wealth?  It should be!

When my father was dying from cancer, he asked the doctor how much would it cost him to live longer.   And there was no answer.  Meaning, long life and health are priceless.  It is more than wealth.

The basic idea now is prevention.  Not getting the sickness and having the cure

Can we avoid sickness from respiratory disorder with all the pictures of pollution in MM!?

Why is there no action being taken undertaken?  The odd thing is that the viewers of this blog site is from foreign countries.  Of the thousand or so who have viewed this site, only 5% are from the PHL

I guess I just have to go on and persist until someone in power reads this and is alarmed.  He could be sick too?!!

Five or ten years hence, or maybe next month when many are being admitted to hospitals due to asthma, allergic attacks, CVD problems, then some people would probably take note, go to this site,  and act.  Only if and then and when that happens.....

As of now, this is a publication to the wilderness..... to a void?

Views of CBD pollution from Padis point, Alta Vista and SM Taytay

Rizal   PHL     |  May 1, 2013

Why am I posting this?  Because so far nothing has happened to my posts before.  I noted the number of viewers and so far only 32 Filipinos  have viewed the posts.  How about the CAA enforcers in the PHL? Here  are the various views of the menace at various observation points.

How many times must we post before an action can be taken?  "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....."

Form Padis point:

Even Valley Golf has been invaded by air pollution

From Alta Vista:

                                      Alta Vista guardhouse

Can you discern Ortigas CBD?  Maybe slightly

It is worse compared last Sunday (because there was work Tuesday?)

From SM Taytay:

Can you see Ortigas CBD at 9: 41,  the sun is shining brightly and it is hot;  pollution still settled down?

What you cant see wont kill you?   So we are not alarmed?

Advocates vs air pollution and healthy living please take note and act.

Metro Manila Air Pollution slideshare presentation

I have uploaded a power point presentation for air pollution.  It will add to the knowledge of people on air pollution so that they will be more aware and take necessary action

More pollution pictures watch today April 22, 2013

Rizal, Philippines   |  April 22, 2013

Here are some more pollution watch pictures today:

Kingfishers and Heron birds frolick and feast on fish near fish pens in Laguna Lake;   look at the backdrop of polluted air in MM.

A steel plant in Taytay;  I just do not know if they have been operating all ready.

BGC buildings are now just silhouettes behind a back drop of air pollution

Wisps of smoke billow from a factory somewhere in Pasig?  Their emission towers above the rest. Kingfishers and heron in flight

Mountain top pollution (at San Carlos Hts)

 Nice lake, pollution yonder

That tricycle spews visible source of air pollution

Bonfires in Tayuman, Binangonan, Rizal

Pictures are clearer because I acquired a new Nikon Coolpix S3200 point and shoot camera, but 6x magnification and 16 megapixels

I studied why Metro Manilans are not concerned with air pollution?

Metro Manila, PHL    |   April 20, 2013

I tried to investigate why there is not much concern nor hurry to eradicate smoke belching and the pollution problem in MM.

As you watch from the distance, the smog is visible, but when you are in the city, there is nothing to be seen.  And hence the complacency.

That is Eastwood viewed atop the Javier bridge crossing floodway;   air is not clear at 3 km away

Those are buildings near Shangri La;  you cant see them quite clearly from the Javier bridge

Those buildings, 3 km away at Shangri La are not very visible

 x

But from Rockwell, just across Guadalupe, the air seems sordid

At Rockwell, the air seems clear  (we really need a measurement system)

T
The guys are doing roadside smoke belching test;  they are from Makati.

I noticed that certain brands of diesel cars and vehicles, though fresh from the showroom belch smoke.  They belch smoke when they accelerate.  And so with other vehicles.

Can bonfires be controlled/prohibited? Are they non polluting?

Air pollution kills

Rizal Philippines |  April 19, 2013

There too many bonfires smoldering at the mountain/hillsides;  they may be good for the mangoes but do they contribute to better air quality?  Can they go our of control and cause forest fires?  These mountains are very much part now of Metro Manila.

This area was recently burned;  as I was standing there, another area of the subdivision was burning

It is hot and warm, yet haze still hides MM, what can be wrong experts??

When it is hot, physicists say, gases evaporate including pollutants.  But why is MM still enveloped by haze and smoke at 3 pm?  Are the pollutants simply too much to be vaporized by 35 degrees Centigrade heat?

 Whose smokestack is that?

People prescribe to plant trees and even pollutant absorbing paints;   are they doing any good to the pollutants (it is good if they are "pulutan", our beer drinkers would be eating them greedily!!) ;  there is simply too much pollutants in the air and very heavy, may I say

Are our scientists, air quality observers not seeing this?

Does any one think these are photoshopped, or shot with special effects?  I challenge anyone to disprove these are false pictures .

But if these were true, would you not be alarmed?

I even quit my teaching job in Makati after seeing a lot of these pictures.  I am afraid for my health;  senior as I am

Air Pollution Kills

Rizal  Philippines |  April 19, 2013

I took this picture from atop a mountain, at Hillsdale Subdivision;   do my other pictures at the lakeside tell a different view/measurement?  What can you tell about air quality in Metro Manila today? :  fair, good, bad?

For whom the bell tolls;   for the victims of air pollution.  Christ the King, church in the sky background

The sun is about to set pollution still settling  at Metro Manila

The Laguna, Alabang areas are showing signs of being polluted too?

A dramatic view of the church, the Metropolis, the earth, the sky, the air and pollution;  very colorful too

Majestic view of Metro Manila skyline and its silent intruder

Could that be a UFO settling in MM?  Twilight's gleaming

The church in the sky and the sunset

A red pink sunset, and the hazy CBD and building silhouette;   residents between the earth and sky
