"Air Pollution Kills"
Are we alarmed?
If we compare the stats, there are more deaths from cigarette smoking than there are from plane crash or traffic accidents. However cigarette smoking kills softly without creating serious injuries or difficulties in the beginning, but when difficulty of breathing comes in - apnea, COPD, or other serious illness, we begin to wonder where the person got the disease. And everybody knows that smoking is the culprit.
Now comes second smoke which is said to be worse than the first smoke.
Now comes air pollution. Is it even worse? At 5,000 a year death attributed to air pollutants (not pulutan - appetizer)
This site would like followers and leaders to be aware of air pollution and how it impacts our lives and health. We seem to be uncaring about this growing serious problem which we know is there but we do nothing. Shall we wait for air pollution to be as serious as in Beijing? When do we act? Air pollution, Metro Manila, , lung, heart, cancer, diseases, global warming, low visibility, PM 2.5, Clean Air Act, smoke belchers, climate change, super typhoons, drought, AQI
