This site does not get much visit and audience compared to other sites/topics. Why does it not trend?
l. The culprit is not visible. The PM 2.5, the real killer is 30x smaller than human hair. But it is the main cause of lung ailment, cancer, and even heart disease. The silent killer is invisible, and is stealthy that is why no one pays attention. If it were a typhoon, or bird flu..
2. Which gives us a second reason: air pollution lacks a pr or social media to start trending.
3. Eradicating air pollution would drive away pleasure and cause more pain now:
l. No more cars
2. No more air polluting activities -- fireworks, smoking, traveling aircon,
If we are to live in the province, we do away with condo and shopping and place or work; who would do that. There is so much to be lost by lessening air pollution
4. It is going to be very very expensive:
l. Every car and bus and vehicle would have to be tuned and overhauled and tested;
2, Those that fail the tests would have to be junked.
3. We have to buy brand new vehicles, hybrid. If we buy diesel powered cars/buses, they have to be Euro 2 at least compliant. We are now in Euro 4.
So why worry?
This site would like followers and leaders to be aware of air pollution and how it impacts our lives and health. We seem to be uncaring about this growing serious problem which we know is there but we do nothing. Shall we wait for air pollution to be as serious as in Beijing? When do we act? Air pollution, Metro Manila, , lung, heart, cancer, diseases, global warming, low visibility, PM 2.5, Clean Air Act, smoke belchers, climate change, super typhoons, drought, AQI
